“Imaginary Choreography” wins third place in the professional division of the Robert Avalon International Competition for Composers!

foundation

My piano trio Imaginary Choreography won third prize in the professional category of the Robert Avalon International Competition for Composers! I’m thrilled to hear this news and am particularly honored to have been told that the jury initially only planned on having first and second place winners, but felt that Imaginary Choreography deserved to be included as well.

(It’s also particularly surreal, having returned to the Wellesley Composers Conference where the piece was premiered last summer, to have been working on new music in my dorm room when I got the call. Whoa!)
